We are thrilled to announce that EP&T has been shortlisted in the Partnership and Collaboration of the Year category at the edie Awards 2025. This is big news for us, but it is also an important recognition of our commitment to sustainability and the power of strategic partnerships.

The ceremony will take place on Thursday, 13 March, at the Intercontinental, London, The O2, where the winner will be revealed among industry leaders dedicated to sustainability and innovation.

The Awards have long been a benchmark for sustainability excellence. Now in their 18th year, they have undergone a significant transformation, featuring new judging panels, revamped categories, plus an expanded venue. The Partnership and Collaboration of the Year category celebrates projects that exemplify cross-industry cooperation to drive measurable sustainability impact. EP&T’s nomination recognises our ongoing collaboration with Westfield London, Schneider, and ISS, which has resulted in over 20% energy savings at Westfield London since September 2021. That’s the equivalent of reducing 3,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions. We are delighted to see that this saving has been recognised.

Our shortlisted project leverages EP&T’s Insight+ data analytics solution, which provides targeted actions for property management teams to bridge the gap between designed and operational energy performance.

By working together with Westfield London, Schneider, and ISS, we have implemented actionable, auditable energy-saving initiatives, including:

  • Optimising air handling schedules to reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
  • Maximising free cooling opportunities to limit the use of mechanical cooling.
  • Reducing mall lighting post-retail hours to eliminate excess energy use.
  • Adjusting kitchen extract fan speeds based on real-time requirements.

By closely monitoring these initiatives through our data-driven EDGE platform, we ensure that energy savings are maximised and sustained over time.

This achievement was made possible through all partners' shared vision and dedication. Regular monthly meetings, structured energy-saving roadmaps, and transparent reporting have been key success factors in the project. The engagement of all stakeholders, from on-site facility teams to technology providers, has fostered continuous innovation and efficiency.

EP&T integrated existing metering data into our platform to ensure that energy efficiency goals were met, allowing for precise savings tracking. Our structured approach included the following:

  • Setting clear sustainability targets aligned with Westfield London’s Better Places strategy.
  • Using advanced data analytics to assess energy consumption patterns and propose improvements.
  • Validating savings achieved against a baseline year to ensure measurable and meaningful progress.

EP&T’s work at Westfield London sets a precedent for other retail and commercial sites seeking to minimise their carbon footprint. The lessons learned from this project are being applied to similar large-scale properties, extending the positive impact of our collaboration.

We are honoured to be among the finalists for this highly competitive category. Regardless of the outcome, being shortlisted affirms our belief in the power of data-driven decision-making and strategic collaboration to achieve significant energy savings and carbon reduction.

We look forward to celebrating the industry’s brightest sustainability champions at the Edie Awards on March 13, 2025.

Stay tuned for updates; wish us luck!
